Roofing Systems

Ply System

Our Ply System is a Conklin Roofing System, for which we are certified applicators.  The Ply System must be put Nancy Afterdown over a smooth surface. – Plywood or OSB roof decking, concrete.

BENEFITS:

1. FULLY ADHEARED, means leaks can’t “disapear” and travel between roofing material and wood roof deck. -This makes “Houdini” leaks that are hard to pinpoint.- Easy to find and see problems.

2. SUSTAINABLE, Re-Coating your roof for a minimal cost every 15 – 20 years is 1/2 the cost of re-roofing, and better for the environent.

3. STRONG AND FLEXIBLE, Conklin’s Spunflex 100% Polyester fabric*, combined with premium roof coatings*, once dry, have a tensile strength of 1400 psi., have an elongation factor of 300%, and remain flexible down to minus 40 degrees below zero. — THIS MEANS the material will not crack or tear in any Tar and Gravel Recovery With OSBconditions.  * You can review these Conklin products here www.conklin.com/catalog/categories.asp

4. SEAMLESS, Seams are “weak spots” that could fail or allow moisture to seep in and freeze, creating problems down the road. Eliminating seams, eliminates one possible “point of failure”.

HERE’S WHAT WE DO:

1. Recover your existing roof to achieve a smooth surface. Either tear-off the existing roof to reveal the originalwood decking, OR, were tear-off is not necessary, we construct a new roof deck over the existing roof surface.

2. Apply the Ply System. The Ply System is three heavy coats of our premium acrylic latex roof coatings, with polyester fabric embedded between the first and second layer of coatings.  The finished roof is clean, easy to maintain and sustain, worry free.

Spray Foam Roofing

“We use Conklin foam and coatings” commercial and residential new roof systems

• Sprayed polyurethane roofing systems have been engineered to provide a superior energy-efficient, long-lasting roof for any building. Foam offers excellent insulation value and a smooth, durable, seam-free barrier against the elements when coated with Conklin coating systems.
• Foam is so lightweight – about eight ounces per square foot – it can be applied over most existing roof systems without exceeding the structural load capacity. Yet it’s amazingly strong, easily withstanding light foot traffic and other weight requirements.
• Conklin’s foam systems have met the most stringent requirements for a variety of industry groups, such as Factory Mutual, Underwriters’ Laboratories, and are recognized by the International Conference of Building Officials. No matter what system you choose, Conklin has you covered for years to come.

TPO / Hypalon

TPO (Thermo-Plastic Olefin) is fast becoming one of America’s, and Santa Fe’s, top roofing materials.

It’s:
- Easy to apply
- Resists UV
- Energy Star Approved roofing system
- Extremely long life potential – 20-50 years  Materials and Application determine outcome.
- Minimal maintanence
However TPO’s:
- Have potential weaknesses; at the seams and terminations – edges.
- Have a depriciating “shelf-life” – granted, sometimes it’s fifty years! But, it is not sustainable.

Our TPO, is actually a CPA (Copolymer Alloy). CPA roof membrane materials are produced by alloying polymeric plasticizers, stabilizers, biocides and antioxidants with PVC compounds. CPA roof membrane materials typically are produced in thicknesses ranging from 30 mils to 50 mils (1.3 mm). Some CPA roof membrane materials are resistant to some chemicals and may be resistant to certain oils and greases. Like PVC, and TPO membranes, CPA membrane laps are seamed by heat-welding according to a specific manufacturer’s recommendations. CPA’s are more versitile than a TPO, because they can use a wider range of materials to creat the membrane, materials that have beneficial properties.
Hypalon is the highest quality “TPO like” membrane available. Conklin’s Hypalon membrane is called Hy-Crown, and there are many 30 year old Hy-Crown roofs that are still performing perfectly today.
